The ex-wife of footballer Majeed Waris says his exclusion from the Black Stars squad for the upcoming African Cup of Nations is punishment for maltreating her.
“I don’t wish him bad but as I am talking to you today he (Waris) is paying for it,” stated Habiba Sinare during an interview on Hitz FM.
“I bleed inside me. I cry inside me. I cry every day, I look at my child and I ask myself if I had followed my family or listened to my family because they wanted me to marry someone else but I trusted this person.”
Sinare claimed during the interview that she dropped out of school with just a year left because she wanted her marriage to Warris to work.
She is the daughter of Saeed Sinare, Ghana’s former Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, and niece of veteran actress Kalsoume Sinare Baffoe.
Sinare and Waris got married in 2017. The now-former couple are parents to a son.
