Grammy-nominated Ghanaian artiste, Rocky Dawuni has been crowned ‘Artiste of the Month’ by reggae magazine, Global Reggae Charts.
The monthly magazine highlights influential reggae artistes around the world and their craft. The honour for the month of May is in recognition of Dawuni’s recently released 13-track ‘Beats of Zion’ album.
Two videos off the project ‘Wickedest Sound’ featuring Stonebwoy and ‘Beats of Zion’ have been released. Sarkodie and Wiyaala are the other features on the album.
Dawuni is a GRAMMY nominated artiste and Activist.His ‘Branches of the Same Tree’ album nabbed a ‘Best Reggae Album’ of the year nomination at the 2016 Grammy Awards.
He has performed at concerts alongside the likes of Stevie Wonder, Peter Gabriel, Jason Mraz, Janelle Monae and John Legend.
Named one of Africa’s Top 10 global stars by CNN, Dawuni has showcased his talent at prestigious venues such as The Kennedy Center, Lincoln Center and The Hollywood Bowl.
He is a UN Environment Goodwill Ambassador for Africa as well as a UN Foundation Ambassador for the Clean Cooking Alliance.
Through these designations he uses his music to shine a light on crucial issues facing humanity cross the globe through live concerts, speaking roles, panels, youth empowerment, leadership circles and more.
