Leicester City boss Claude Puel has confirmed that Ghana international Daniel Amartey will be sidelined for four months.
The 23-year-old will not be available for Saturday’s match at Cardiff after suffering a serious ankle injury at the weekend.
Puel said: “Daniel [Amartey] has had surgery and it was a success.
“He will normally not be available for four months.
“I had sadness towards Daniel after the game, to sacrifice himself for the team like that.”
Daniel Amartey will also miss the Black Stars’ remaining games in the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers but could return to fitness in time for the tournament in Cameroon next summer.
