Dreams were ignited and lives changed during the first stop of the new season of women empowerment initiative ‘Girl Code. ‘
Held at the Jubilee Hall of the University of Ghana on Thursday, September 30, 2018, it offered a glimpse of what organizers promised the third season would be about – “Igniting Dreams.”
Speakers Jeremie Van-Garshong, Emmaline Datey and Cornelia O’Dwyer shared stories of their not-so-smooth journey to the top, and leading the pack in their field of endeavour.
Van-Garshong, host of mid-morning show, Lifestyle Café on LIVE 91.9 FM presented on ‘not losing yourself whilst chasing your dream.’
Datey, a Human Resources Manager with EIB Network shared how she failed Mathematics several times, eventually acing the subject after facing her fears and how that helped her journey.
O’Dwyer, host and Executive producer of hit talk show ‘Chick Chat Live’ on Fox Life Africa highlighted the need to chase one’s dream in spite of challenges – citing losing both parents before she was 15, braving all odds and crafting how she wanted her life to be.
Singer Adina surprised the audience with a live performance session, and listed 5 things women should be aware of when pursuing their dreams.
