Fancy Gadam received a hero’s welcome when he returned to his Tamale base on Monday, April 16, 2018.

He caused an upset at the 2018 Ghana Music Awards with his ‘Song of the Year‘ award.

Many people are of the opinion that he did not deserve the award.

Gadam stated that Patapaa can hang himself for been mad about losing out on the ‘Song of the Year‘ award.

He told told Daniel Dadzie on JOY FM‘s Super Morning Show, he doesn’t understand the controversy about him winning the award.

“Massa if i win and you no feel, go hang yourself,” stated Gadam “he for not bore. E no be he and i only dey the category inside… Shatta Wale dey inside… why he no verse, then you, you dey verse.”

The ‘One Corner‘ artiste suggested that CharterHouse, organizers of the awards scheme took “stupid money” to hand the award to Gadam.

It was powered by CharterHouse in partnership with the Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA) and under the auspices of the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts and sponsored by Vodafone Ghana.

It seeks to honour artistes and stakeholders in the Ghanaian music industry who have released works that generated the most public excitement within the year under review, and also reward veteran artistes who have blazed the trail in the music industry.
