Actress Yvonne Nelson claims she decided to have a child with her current boyfriend, Fashion Photographer Jamie Roberts because he is “the right guy I can start something with.”
She backed her claim with her decision not to accept the proposal of an ex who proposed to her in the past.
“Someone proposed and I didn’t even marry him. I felt like okay this is the right guy I can start something with,” explained Nelson to Blakk Rasta on Zylofon FM.
“It’s fate and can happen to someone at 25 but mine happened to me when I turned 29. I felt like this is the time for me to have kids and I need to start. Of course my mum is my role model, she had kids when she was young. Yes you will feel a little pressure as a woman but not to force someone to marry you.”
Her unmarried status, and the belief that her boyfriend is still married has led to a lot of scathing criticism and comments about her character and personality.
In late December 2017, Roberts came to her defense against the homewrecker claims which he calls “lies” with a post on Instagram writing: “My rib ❤️ #issavibe #thankful #yvonnenelson#godiswonderful #liesarenot”
He was by her side when she gave birth to the daughter, Ryn Roberts on Sunday, October 29, 2017.
Yvonne Nelson is a Ghanaian actress, model, film producer and an entrepreneur. She has starred in several movies including read more House of Gold (2013) and generic sildenafil citrate Any Other Monday.
Nelson was born in Accra but she is a Fante whose hometown is in Cape Coast. She started her education at St. Martin De Porres School in Accra and later went to Aggrey Memorial Senior High School. Her first lead role was the title character in the movie Princess Tyra. She shot about five more movies and then went to Nigeria to shoot her first collaboration with Genevieve Nnaji in 2007, which launched her career in Nollywood. Nelson produced her first movie, The Price, in 2011, followed by Single And Married the next year. The latter won Best Picture at the Ghana Movie Awards and Best Ghanaian Movie in Nigeria at the 2013 City People Awards.

She founded the Yvonne Nelson Glaucoma Foundation in 2010 to help create awareness about the disease. With support from other Ghanaian celebrities, she recorded an all-star charity single, and shot a video to help educate people. In 2013 she was honoured by GoWoman Magazine & Printex for her Glaucoma Foundation and film career.
In recent times, Nelson has taken it upon herself, together with other celebrities, to add more voices to the masses in protests against the energy crisis in her country. She led a peaceful vigil on May 16, 2015, called DumsorMustStop.
