Still in the giving spirit, Jay Z has released the visuals for “Family Feud” today at 4:44 p.m. Tidal teased the new release early Thursday afternoon with a tweet.
The video stars Hov himself, Blue Ivy, and Beyoncé looking like an absolute queen inside a church. Michael B. Jordan, Jessica Chastain, Moonlight‘s Trevante Rhodes, Power‘s Omari Hardwick, Rosario Dawson, Rashida Jones, and Mindy Kaling are among the many stars who make appearances.
The music video—directed by none other than Ava DuVernay, who’s had experience directing rap films—tries to tie together a story about family that spans decades. It includes a storyline of two people making out, one of which appears to have suspiciously good hair. At one point, one of these two lovers gets stabbed in the back by the other.
Visually, though, the video looks positively regal. The video also boasts a healthy dose of religious symbols; for example, Jay and Bey are at different sides of a church confessional booth at one point.
“Family Feud” marks the 11th music video that Jay Z has released off 4:44. The only remaining 4:44 songs without visuals are the Frank Ocean-featuring “Caught Their Eyes” and “Blue Freestyle/We Family,” the latter of which was one of three bonus tracks that came packaged with the album’s physical release.
