Popular Ghanaian hiplife musician, Mzbel known privately as Belinda Nana Ekua Amoah has eulogised the President, Nana Akufo Addo for fulfilling the promise of the ruling New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) much-touted flagship programme, the free SHS policy.

This was after the strong advocate for the Former President, John Dramani Mahama went through the process swiftly to enrol his son who got admission at the Achimota Senior High School on Monday, September, 11.

The ‘Go Your Way’ singer who couldn’t hide her overwhelmed  feeling of great happiness posted on her social media pages“Free Education here we come!!! It’s actually true oo! Hahaaa Nana well done oo!! Onto the next deal… One Corner One Dancer! Inshallah.”

The first batch of beneficiaries to enjoy the ruling New Patriotic Party(NPP) much-touted flagship programme, the free SHS policy will report to their various schools of placement today, September 11, 2017.

The Deputy Education Minister, Dr. Adutwum last week reiterated that schools were scheduled to re-open on Monday, 11 September 2017, and hence urged heads of the various schools to make themselves available to the students to present their admission letters and register for the academic year before Monday.

The funding for the programme is expected to hit the accounts of most second-cycle institutions as they begin processes for the enrollment today.

The Deputy Finance Minister, Abena Osei-Asare,  earlier said government has finalised preparations to credit the accounts of 647 public SHS and was waiting for the Ministry of Education to provide them with the numbers of students in each of those schools.

Meanwhile, President Akufo-Addo will tomorrow, Tuesday, September 12, 2017 officially launch the free SHS programme.

The event will be held at the West African Senior High School at Adenta in Accra.
