Rapper Fareed has released a new song titled ‘Goga’ featuring Edem. The title of the song mean ‘Grind’ in Hausa and was produced by Mix Masta Garzy.
The song, according to Fareed is to encourage women “not to be afraid to express themselves and be proud of what they have. Society looks down on a lot of things. They see confidence as being rude and this is a disease.”

Bamba Records artiste, Fareed known for hit songs ‘Hip-hop Alhaji’ and ‘Zaafi’ is set to release a new song ‘Goga’ featuring VRMG CEO Edem. The song is produced by Mix Masta Garzy and means ‘grind’ in Hausa.
DJs and producers tell us the song would definitely gained massive rotation on mainstream radio, and at events.
Fareed explained the inspiration behind the song in an interview with livefmghana.com: “My new song was created to boost the confidence of young women. Society looks down on a lot of things. They see confidence as being rude and this is a disease. So I’m telling all the beautiful ladies not to be afraid to express themselves. So to all my beautiful ladies( Manta Da Koowa) “Forget Everybody” and do your thing.”
He also expressed excitement about recording with one of the people that he looks up to, Edem. “Edem is full of positivity and also has the ‘supernatural and indigenous flow.’ I couldn’t sleep after I heard Edem’s part Charlie.
Just imagine the fusion of the Hausa and Ewe language on a song’. I feel honoured working with him on a song.”
The song will be available for download on all digital platforms on Friday, March 24.
The Jeneral Jay-directed visual will be released weeks later. Jay worked with Fareed on visuals for Hip HopAlhaji and Zaafi. A trailer of the video would be released on Social Media in the coming days.
He tells us he has a lot more in store for his fans.
