With the back and forth tussle going on between Reggie Rockstone and Okyeame Quophi as to which Ghanaian artiste first made history at the Apollo Theatre in New York, Reggie told Okyeame that his time is past and gone.
“This is Sarkodie’s time, your time came and its gone so what are you going to gain from coming out to say this? First of all, Sarkodie never said he is the only one making history,” he said in an interview with Abrantepa on Radio Univers.
Recounting what happened years ago at the Appollo Theater, Reggie Rockstone said Sarkodie made history over the weekend with his concert because he is the first Ghanaian rapper to headline a sold out concert at the Appollo Theater in New York.
“Now another thing Quophi is not telling the people is, Lumba was the headline act for that show not you. Lumba was a bigger artiste and you were the opening acts. Sarkodie is not an opening act but the headliner.”
Okyeame Quophi came out hours after Sarkodie had his “History In The Making Concert” at the Apollo Theater to say that his former group, Akyeame made history at the Apollo Theater in 2000 so Sarkodie should not distort the information.
He wrote “Akyeame Was the first Hiplife Duo to play at the Appollo Theatre to a mix crowd so huge the police came to stop the show. This was in 2000 with daddy lumber. Don’t distort the history. Which history is in the making??”
