Award-winning music producer, Appietus will contest MUSIGA president Obour when the music body holds its next elections.
He made the declaration in an interview with Berla Mundi on Live FM during the station’s evening drive program, Route919.
Asked what influenced the decision to contest the presidency , he said : ” If I don’t come and rectify stuff, I might end up poor. There is no pension for musicians.”
He added the music structures in Ghana makes it difficult for musicians to benefit off their hardwork hence the reason to compete and believes he is the right person to make a difference in the life of musicians in Ghana.
“I’m in a better position to help them because I understand what they go through. I know what they go through when they start and also when they become successful.”
Route919 is on Live 91.9FM every weekday between 3 and 7pm and hosted by Sammy Forson.
